This idyllic village, with its rich history and serene surroundings, offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle.

Stanmer Park is just off the A27 between Brighton and Lewes. It is around a mile from Falmer station and the 23, 25, 25x, 28 and 29 buses run between the centre of Brighton and the entrance to Stanmer Park. The 78 bus goes from Old Steine, central Brighton to Stanmer village on weekends (starting at 10am) as well as a weekday 78 bus. and the entrance of Stanmer Park to the centre of the village is a 20-25 minute walk, or drive (parking costs from £1/£1.50 per hour up to £6.50 per day).

The first thing you see after this walk is the truly amazing Stanmer house, an elegant mansion built in the 18th century surrounded by woodlands. Inside, it's beautifully decorated, you'll feel as though you've stepped into a Jane Austen novel. You can eat at the cafe, with a delicious selection of meals that you can eat inside or in the gated garden by the fountain. If you need somewhere to host an event, it's the perfect spot to do so. You will also see the Stanmer Church opposite the house, a charming historic church that has stood for centuries.

The village is home to a cozy tearoom that serves a selection of delectable treats. The vegan chocolate cake is perfect if you have a sweet tooth and they offer general english breakfast and lunch options like sandwiches, salads and jacket potatoes as well as a afternoon tea that you have to pre-book 48 hours in advance, costing £19.95 per person and served in the wonderland room.

One of the standout attractions in Stanmer Village is the captivating One Garden, a haven where nature, art, and creativity converge. The shop includes a grocery store, a treasure trove for food enthusiasts who appreciate the goodness of locally sourced and artisanal products. From fresh seasonal produce to handcrafted cheeses, baked goods, and gourmet treats, the store showcases the best of Sussex's culinary offerings. They also have a cafe within this building with delicious cakes, pastries and drinks. For those seeking a more formal dining experience, the One Garden restaurant delivers gastronomic excellence against the backdrop of the garden's natural beauty. They use produce grown in the nearby kitchen garden plot. The Brighton permaculture centre, the fruit factory is located in Stanmer village, selling freshly made apple and pear juices as well as ciders. You can walk through their orchard or even volunteer to help make it (it's a very strenuous process... not for the weak!).
